A luxurious historic Villa built in 1888. This villa had just been recently renovated by fine craftsmen who have sympathetically restored & retained the original beauty of the building. The interior finishings, from the floor tiles to the painted fresco ceilings have been carefully chosen together with furniture in keeping with its historic past to showcase the elegance of the Italian architecture.

The property offers eight bedrooms, sleeping up to 12 people. The most spacious bedroom (85 sq.m.) is on the top floor from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and mountains together with an en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath.

At the heart of the Villa is a beautiful handmade painted kitchen with dining table and chairs for 8 people. A bar room, extends off the kitchen & dining area from where you can a glass of wine on the 'Juliette' balcony for two. Across the hall is an elegant lounge area with views across the lake to the mountains above Varenna on the Eastern shores of Lake Como.

Outside in the garden, there is a large outdoor swimming pool with seating area all around. There is a charcoal & gas BBQ for you to dine 'al fresco'. There is a spacious parking area accommodating up to 3 cars within the gates of the property.

The villa is perfectly situated in the hillside town of Croce, just a 5 minute drive down to Menaggio.

Villa Sophia is within walking distance of the famous Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Course which is the second oldest Golf Club in Italy & represents British tradition at its best. Overlooking Lake Como, it is a course combining old-world values with a heritage of golfing culture. The elevated position of the course provides splendid views in all directions. Players can catch glimpses of the lakes and in the distance, the central Alps.

Service Charge

There is a service charge which is inclusive of bed linen, towels, electricity, gas, water & air-conditioning (if installed in the holiday property). Tea towels & beach towels are not supplied. If your booking is for more than one week, clean linen & towels will be provided on a weekly basis. The final property clean is offered free of charge.

Making a Bookings

There are no additional charges for credit or debit card payments. However,all bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender. To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our booking form online and pay a 30% deposit. The remaining balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
